I have a small antque tool collection and a friend gave me this and I have no idea what this is, can you please tell me.

The square drive looks like it's inserted into a bit and brace, aka old fashioned, hand cranked drill. From the looks of the cutter and the different sized holes, probably a thread cutter for wood dowel.

Hollow augers are used to cut round tenons for making chairs or wagon spokes
