Water Powered Sump Pump

Would some of you members that have experience with water powered sump pumps give me some feedback as to your satisfaction or disappointment. I'm interested in the McDonald model 747H20 which appears well designed and easy to understand based on the film I viewed on You Tube... "This Old House" installed by Rich T.

Re: Water Powered Sump Pump

Water powered sump pumps are a reliable back up system if you have City water. I wouldn't recommend it as the primary pump. they use about twice as much water to operate as they pump. But in a power failure, the water will still be on so you'll have a pump.

If you're on a well, it won't work in a power failure, so get a battery back up instead.
