Wall mounted exterior fan in my kitchen

I am hoping someone can offer advice. My kitchen has a large fan in it that when working can pump air outside. It is a nice feature and I want to leave it in the house, but it lets in a lot of moisture and as a result the paint on the wall under it is usually bubbling and cracking. Does anyone know of a cover that can be used to seal it up without removing it?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Re: Wall mounted exterior fan in my kitchen

The outside cover for the exhaust should be a louvered cover. The louvers will be pushed open when the fan is on and close when the fan is off. Some other things that might be causing your problems could be caulking and flashing might be needed around the opening outside.
