UV protection for existing windows

We just got new furniture, and I'd like to at least delay the fading from the three skylights we have in our living room.

Has anyone tried using the window films for existing windows? Do-it-yourself or professionally applied? We'd like to keep the windows as clear as possible but need something.

Any recommendations would be most welcome.

Thanks!

Re: UV protection for existing windows

Window films are a great way to add efficiency and different options to existing windows. Application really depends on how handy you are and how much PATIENCE you have! If you have ever applied tint to a car window, the process is similar but again requires patience.

It's a great thing to do especially if you get the insulating window films which can save on HVAC costs as well.
