Here's the story I recently purchased a home in Brooklyn NY and I had a problem with a clog in my main sewer trap to the street. This happened on a Sunday and I was not able to flush any toilets or use the sinks or the shower, if I did everything would back-up and come through my basement toilet being it was a Sunday I had to call Rotor Rooter to clear the sewer trap. When they arrived they discovered that the trap was buried 2 feet deep under the concrete floor. They exposed the trap and cleared the clog but had to break off the sewer caps because they were so old and he didn't have a replacement cap so I went a night with sewerage seeping into the exposed dirt. Since this occurred (about 1 month ago) my basement has smelled like a sewer I dug up as much dirt as possible and even threw some mason's Lime in the dirt (a friend recommended that) and it still stinks. What can I do to get rid of the smell. Thanks in advance.
