Re: Unlevel Kitchen Floor

First thing I would need to know is how much out of level is it? That will make a difference on what kind of fix you can make. Also what is the porch floor made of? Also what kind of floor covering is on the porch part?

Re: Unlevel Kitchen Floor

The Floor Has About A 1 Inch Slope From The Old Kitchen To The Porch.(i Think This Was For Drainage) Both The Kitchen And The Porch Are Old Pine. The Porch Had Been Covered With Nasty Indoor/outdoor Carpet And The Kitchen Four (4) Layers Of Tile All Of This Has Been Removed. We Sanded The Floors, And Used The Leveling Compound As Directed, Then Added Plank Vinyl Tile. The Leveling Compound Then Began To Brake Apart In The Porch Area. Now It Comes Up In Chips And The Flooring Has All Come Up.

Re: Unlevel Kitchen Floor

Without seeing it it is hard to make a good suggestion. You might want to think about this. Take up the old pine from the porch down to the floor joist. You can then take a 2x4 and cut a wedge spaning from the floor level of the kitchen to the height needed to level it in the porch area. Then you could put down a new subfloor over either the porch area or the entire floor area then finish it out with tile, carpet or whatever you wish.
