uneven wall/window in bathroom

I have a wall in my newly redone bathroom that's making me crazy. The window is in a steel frame and these were not set exactly even in my old house. So, despite the drywall going on straight, the window steel frame has a high upper left edge sticking out about 1/2 inch from the wall, meanwhile the other side sits flat against the wall. I can't add a window edge/molding because my shower door frame literally runs right along the window frame.

Any way that I can make this "appear" more even without creating a mess?

I considered buying small wood shims and gluing on to the low half of the window frame and build it up and out a bit. Glue it, fill it with putty and paint...crazy?

I am "kinda" handy, but not a craftswoman by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, I'm probably more dangerous thinking I *can* tackle something like this.
