I took a bath raditor apart to paint in and have all the parts. when i seperated each (4) fins, i did not notice a gasket or sealent between each upper and lower connection. how does it not leak and what do i have to do to make sure that this steam raditaor does not leak when i put it back together? thanks
Since it appears that any joint sealer has long ago deteriorated I would suggest you use some pipe dopr and/or Teflon tape. An old radiator could probably benefit from a bit of both. Make sure the threads are clean and undamaged.
Old radiators depended primarily on a press fit.
