Tom's Tool Belt
cornerstonepi

Have a simple question that I can not find the answer to on the This Old House Site. Does anyone know what tool belt Tom Silva uses? I am looking for who makes it and the model number. I have been a carpenter for 28 years and have used side bags and front aprons. I have an apron now and during a recent TOH episode noticed a couple of features on Tom's belt that I would like to have. Would appreciate your help.

Thanks.

It looks like the brand could be McGuire-Nicholas, but I am not sure. I do not have a model #. I was curious about this as well and haven't been able to get and anwer. I know this was posted almost two years ago, but did you find out any new information? Thanks.

Nope, haven't found the answer. Gonna say from the responses from some of the "senior" members that there will not be any help from them either... Too bad. Was just looking to see what belt it was.:(

Don't know if you ever had this answered as it's an old post. Tom's apron is a Maguire Nicholas model #427. Maguire Nicholas was bought out by Rooster Products which I believe are made in Mexico not the U.S.A. If you are still interested in purchasing one they can be found on Ebay if you hit it right. I have purchased 2 as I was hit by nostalgia as this was the model I used after I graduated from a trade school in the late 80s. Hope this helped you. If you are lucky enough to find one, the quality is very good as they were still made in the US. Just an f.y.i. Tom has made some modifications such as replacing the belt which comes attached to the apron with what looks like a seat belt type of belt in some episodes. The originals came with a web military style belt.
