I have a sentimental attachment to the sound of rain on a tin roof, but the roof on my house is in great shape and there's no anticipation of needing to replace it anytime soon. I have a very small back porch and was wondering if it was reasonable to place a small amount of tin on top of the current roofing. The porch is right outside our bedroom and so we would be able to enjoy the sounds from both under the porch and in our room. Does anyone know if this is feasable and how I might find/attach the tin?
I doubt you would notice the difference. The asphalt roofing under the metal will deaden almost all the sound. You really need to install it on perlins to get the full effect.

Hi nice house. Copper would be great on the porch but $$$$.
Try to consult any roofing contractors in your area.
