Tile floor re-finish

Hi,

I have recently purchased a house with a tile floor that I believe is from the 50's or 60's. I really want to save this floor, but there is so much dirt and grime I have no idea where to start! What is a good way to strip and re-seal this floor?

p.s. there is no grout inbetween tiles.

What type of tile? Vinyl tile I'm guessing or ceramic? What size?

I am pretty sure it is vinyl, the tiles are 9x9 prolly about a 40sq. ft. room.

I really don't know how to clean vinyl tile, but the are most likely VAT, vinyl asbestos tile. Not really an issue inless you try to remove them. check with some manufacturers.

You could be into a hazardous situation, I would definetly check with a local professional.
