There are alot of people who will debate one is better over the other. I personally have done several of both type of systems. Mostly trunk and branch systems. When I run a trunk and branch system I will run more 3/4 pex because the fittings are internal and can restrict flow. Hope this helps

Thank you and you have been very helpful, Im lucky because all my plumbing is in the basement and I only have to run about 100 total feet of pex.

This is an interesting topic. I ran 3/4 PEX from my tank but only for a very short distance and then stepped it down to 1/2. I have plenty of pressure, but, it does make me wonder which would have been better.
