Structural Cement Board Sheathing
afadmin02

I own a brownstone in Brooklyn, NY and will be replacing the floors between the second & third floors. Building code doesn't allow use of wood studs (or plywood!) which leaves me with two options. #1 - Pour concrete (or gypcrete) or #2 - use a structural cement board (noncombustible) called Armoroc. Does anyone have any experience with Armoroc? I don't like the idea of having to install metal deck and pour a heavy concrete slab (which will also require me to block off the street for a concrete truck and pump the slurry to the floor!). My contractor says the Armoroc installs like plywood and is much easier/cheaper.

I'd appreciate any feedback. If you're interested in researching it's on www.armoroc.com.

Thanks!
