Have 3 year old steam heat furnance with a Honeywell Pressuretrol with 2 settings side by side one is marked DIFF At top and DIFFERENCE IS SUBTRACTIVE on bottom with .5 to 2 PSI. The other is marked MAIN with 1 to 8 PSI.
What is the difference between them.

Try going to:

forum.HeatingHelp.com

Then click onto "Strictly Steam"
Then go to the SEARCH BOX at the top of the page & enter "Help Setting proper pressure for steam boiler" to get to an article & photo reference on addressing this problem; click onto the title heading ("Help Setting proper pressure for steam boiler") to view the photo.

Click onto the photo prompts (photo(5).jpg) to see a photo of steam pressure gauge.

Hope this helps.
