Squealing sound from water pipes

We recently began hearing loud high pitched squealing sounds (almost like an alarm) from our water pipes throughout the house. This has happened since we replaced the toilet repair kit inside the tank. We don't know for a fact this is where the problem is, (although it has come from that room at least once) but we've never had this problem before. Could it be air in the lines or too much pressure from just replacing the fixtures inside the tank? It doesn't happen all the time and it's not always from the same location inside the house. So far it has never lasted more than 30 seconds at a time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
