Sleeping Porch- Ideas/Advice for Covering Up Windows Permanently
Emily

We live in a home built in 1929 with beautiful leaded glass casement windows. We currently have two sleeping porches- one will be turned into a walk-in closet and the other into a bedroom. Having two of four walls almost made up entirely of windows in each is problematic for various reasons. Be gentle here- am I crazy for wanting to remove and cover up these windows with shutters? See attached pictures. I've looked briefly into the process, and am thinking of having a contractor remove the windows (to be reused in our upcoming kitchen remodel) and having exterior shutters custom made to fit so the shutters look permanently closed (similar to overable louvered shutters). This side of our home has large, mature trees and and there is limited visability from the street- basically no one can see this side of our home anyway. Any advice or thoughts are welcome.
