Sill plate repair

So my quick painting project revealed a few loose clapboards. I decided to pop a few boards off and I was found the sheathing was rotted along with the sill beam, corner post, and some of the wall framing.

So far I have jacked up the house with some bottle jacks. I also braced the house from the outside.

My plan is to slide the new beam in and set the house back down. I could butt the new beam against the unrotted section of the old but if prefer make some sort of scarf or ship lap for stability. But I have no idea on how to do that especially with the beam still in the house. Any idea on where to start? Or things to consider?
