shower tile in corner and around ceiling

when you carry the tile all the way to the ceiling, do you place grout between the tile and ceiling? Or do you place the tile right next to the ceiling and seal with silicone? Also, the tile layer had to pull off several tiles because they weren't laid level. Some tiles had little "lips" over hanging the tile below it. When he tore them off, he tore off the kerdi and some of the dry wall with it. He did not put any more of the orange kerdi over the damaged place. He cut it out and just placed some kind of mud. Does the kerdi board need to be replaced before the mud is put back on? He grouted the wall corners and between the shower floor and around the walls. Is that the correct way? Can I go ahead and use the silicone over the grout. You are not suppose to need a sealer on the grout he used. But I am talking about the silcone as sealing the corners and around the bottom of shower floor.

Thank you very much.
