Shower pan slope

The drain in my shower is 18" from the wall. How much mud should I use to make the slope. How thick should it be?

Re: Shower pan slope

it should slope 1/4" per ft.toward the drain. The thickness at the drain is dependent on the type of membrane you plan on using ,and the drain itself.
The slope needs to be under the waterproofing membrane. If doing a thinset membrane (ansi 118.10) and the drain will go low enough your looking at a min 3/4" at the drain in most cases.
Take a peak at the videos at www.noblecompany.com ,two methods FULL MORTAR BED using a standard CPE liner and THIN SET METHOD using a ANSI 118.10 thin set membrane.

Re: Shower pan slope

Thank you. I was thinking of using Hydro Ban ad the water prooofing membrane.
