The copper threaded socket that the shower head pipe extention screws into is outside the wall, not recessed behind the drywall.Looking for a cover plate that will cover the copper socket.approx 1" dia & 3/4" high.
They are called escutcheon plates and you can get them at almost all hardware or big box stores in different sizes and different finishes.
Does the nipple (the pipe extending out the wall) move?
Thanks for responding,
No the nipple does not move. I have changed many shower heads and they are always recessed behind the drywall.I do not know what happened. I cannot find a raised plate at any of the big box stores.
I have been told that they are available but where.
The plumber who installed the pipe mad a mistake, but it's not the end of the world.
True value has what you need. And so are dozens of websites on line.
