Sheetrock ceiling crack from flexing?

Hi, I have a very old house which has (7 1/2" x 3") @ 24"? OC wood beams for all my floors spanning 17'

I want to know if I was to put sheetrock on these beams and say someone jumps or some heavy load is on the floor above.. would the flexing of the beams crack the sheetrock ceiling?

Actually they are probably more like 24" OC

OK, I saw this posting after I answered your first posting.

There is a significant difference between 12" OC and 24" OC. I would consult with a pro.
