Sewer smell

There's a smell in the air around my house ever since I installed a new septic system 7 years ago. I've extended the vent pipes, but don't know what else to do. The odor is only when we've used a lot of water and the air is very still. The only other time there was no odor was when there was a break in the line to the holding tank. The plumber had no idea, does anyone out there?

Re: Sewer smell

Sounds to me like you have a pipe or trap that is open or broken. Have you noticed any settlement around the area where the pipes would be? Is there a chance you have a root problem that separated or crushed a pipe? You might want to consider a plumber with a snake that has a camera to inspect the pipes. Good Luck.
