Good morning,We are in are last phase of our deck project very nice...but the 5/4 decking has ben ink stamped amd some wood ain't the best quality...Can i rent a floor sander, sand, then seal it w/a waterproofer. or maybe I'm going overbord!
Maybe get a orbital sander, but if you use an floor sander make sure the nails or screws are recessed so the belt won't snag and use a high grit paper
If you go through all that. I would use a top quality stain such as Sikken DEK 2 coat process. It will look like a piece of nice stained furniture specially if you spend the time sanding the deck. But the stain is about $50 a gallon. I feel waterproofing doesn't really protect your deck will fade in a year.
