sand to change semi-gloss exterior paint to satin?

I had some places on my house where the latex paint had bubbled.  I scraped off the bubbles, primed, and then painted with a color-matched latex  (I was able to take a piece from a bubble to the paint store).  They asked me if the paint was glossy, semi-gloss, or flat.  I did not know since I did not paint the house after I bought it.

Long story short, the color looks right but from any angle you can clearly see the semi-gloss paint.  The original paint may have been satin/flat, or perhaps it faded that way over time.

I was wondering if it is possible to sand the new areas (after waiting a week or two for them to cure) in order to remove the glossy appearance?  If so what grit would I use?  Would wet-sand paper be better?
