Salvage old Barn with Shed

We are looking for a person, persons, company or organization [TOH?] to dismantle an old barn and save the timber for reuse in renovation or restoration projects. We will pay for dismantling and removal of the barn. We do not want the old lumber. However, we would expect the cost of dismantling and removal to reflect some credit for the value of the old timbers. The barn is located in NW Pennsylvania and sits on 100+ acres of farm and timberland overlooking the French Creek valley. Some of the barn timbers are from the 18th century.

First of all, you should not have to pay for dismantling and removal. There are a lot of companies that will buy standing barns. Here is a site with some info on selling barns http://www.thebarnpages.com/sellin****barns.cfm

And here are three possible buyers

What Jack said.

You should get paid for the wood AND they should be careful with your land. Get the second part in writing too.

At the very least, I would imagine you can get it brought down free, if it's in poor condition with little usable lumber. I've been hunting barn siding and flooring for a reno for months and keep missing free smaller barns on Criagslist so I KNOW people are all over them. I've seen people selling them also, usually those sit longer than the freebies.

I suggest you look for barn and shed websites in the internet. They can help you with your problem.
