Roughing up slick finished concrete

My carport has slick finished concrete. It doesn't appear to have any fibers in the concrete. If it gets wet or your shoes are damp on bottom, it is very easy to slip and fall. Even the cats and dogs have trouble when running across it with dry paws.

Any ideas on how to rough it up or add some texture to the top of the concrete?

Textured paint or etching to remove the top layer of concrete and expose more sand/rock.
