The floor in my shower stall is deteriorating over the years of use and I would like to repair it. The shower is original from when the house was built around the 1970 ish time frame. I think the material for the tub is some kind of plastic resin like fiberglass. I want to repair the surface of the floor with out tearing it out of the shower. Can you coat the top surface with some type of an epoxy material like what you would use on a garage floor or maybe a marine grade epoxy? Or is there a special material that would be better for this shower application because of the high water content. I want something that will be hard and durable and will not stain over time. Attached are photos of the floor showing the areas that have worn down over time. I look forward to any advice that you can give me to help me go in the right direction on fixing this floor.
