replacing recessed countertops and backsplash

I'm replacing countertops/abacksplash but they are recessed about 3/4" in the wall. In other words, the drywall essentially ends at the middle of the top of the backsplash. I'm not sure why they did ait that way but wondering if I'll have a problem installing new coutertops and backsplash? Anyone have any experience with this?

Re: replacing recessed countertops and backsplash

I get all my countertops for my kitchen at Dauter Stone Inc. they have been serving the Calgary area for over 35 years and is still a first generation family business. They manufacture and install natural stone products made from granite, soapstone, limestone, marble, natural quartzite and quartz.
