Replacing indoor/outdoor carpet in a sunroom
terry4292

I'm trying to tear-out some indoor-outdoor carpet in a sunroom and replace it. The adhesive used to secure the carpet to the concrete slab is terrible to remove, almost impossible. What is the best way to remove this carpet and the adhesive and get a smooth concrete surface so I can install some new material?

The best tool to remove the old glue is a telephone. This is miserable work.

In the event you try to do it yourself, I'd first flood the area with water to see if that softens the glue. If flooding isn't possible, then a diamond cup grinder is the next , very dusty solution.

A ton of elbow grease.

Rent a concrete grinding machine from your rental store. These look somewhat like a floor buffer, but have diamond stones which will abraid the surface of the concrete, leaving it ready for a new finish.
