Replacing air return grille & sourcing missing diffuser

Just moved into a new home and looking to make improvements. One issue is the air return is very noisy due to how many coats of paint this grille has and how banged up it has gotten over the years.

See photos above. It measures 37-1/4" wide x 7-1/2" tall by approx. 5/8" deep. Can't seem to find this anywhere.

Also looking for a replacement cover for a baseboard diffuser. I used this one:

I used this one for another room missing, but a few in the house measure 16" long. I could not find these anywhere. This house is from the 60's so times may have changed. Thanks in advance!

cncb, there are 2 types of air flow grills. one is supply and one is return. You stated the the one you have is return
but the grill that you showed us is a supply grill.
supply grills have a throw(how far they project the air into the room) build in to them with a volume control adjustment.
i would use some of the grills that JLMCDANIEL showed you
