Re: Repairing Concrete Window Wells

micoinde ... thanks for the picture it helps.:)

Unless that concrete window well goes all the way to the footing or is somehow supported underneath ... which I doubt ... it'll need to be removed.
It looks to have dropped 3 or 4 inches .... being concrete with bricks on top is a lot of weight.

You may look for an alternative type like the standard metal type or others that suit you.

If you decide to remove and replace it you might consider also checking the drainage system for the window well if there is one. You may need to excavate down to the drain system that is part of the foundation drain system and tie into there. At this time it would be good to evaluate the waterproofing on the foundation in this area.

Cheers.:)

Thanks, although I like the look of the concrete and brick well, I may leaning toward replacing it with a metal half circle.

You're welcome.:)
It does look nice ... i agree with you there ... providing it's done properly.

Good luck.

Hey, what do think about just filling the crack with some concrete? Is that just a "band-aid" fix?

In my opinion it's a "band-aid" fix ... that won't be addressing the problem.
