Repair Wainscotting

I recently installed wainscotting and underneath the window, the wainscotting buckled outward. I tried to push back in but it will not budge. Any advice on how to fix this without having to ripe it all out?

Thank you in advance for any advice!

Re: Repair Wainscotting

I assume the Wainscotting is tongue and groove type. When you install flooring, paneling, and wainscottingat at the ends you have to leave some room for expansion and contraction. As the humidity changes the wood expands or contracts with the amount of humidity in the room. remove the end pieces and rip a good
1/4" off the wood and reinstall. That should correct your problem.

Thanks for the advice!! yes, it is toungue and groove and I did leave area for expansions, I guess just not enough. i will pull out those pieces and rip one...perhaps if I take the toungue out of the 2 peices, that should work.

Thanks again!!
