Repair quick connect on under sink water filter

My undersink Delta PUR faucet water filter system is ~5 -6 yr. old. Has no had any problems until this evening when the quick connect tube/coupling blew off. Besides things & me getting a little damp, I ended up with two pieces of black plastic & a split wire circle; these were the coupling holding the 3/8" tube quick connect to the quick connect nipple on the filter housing. This would be the bottom of part # RP42337 (sorry I wasn't able to get a jpeg of the part. Product has been discontinued & no parts are to be found. How can I repair/replace the quick connection so that it will seal & hold under pressure. Replacing whole system not really an option at the moment. The chlorine taste ruins my coffee & tea. Thank you.

Didn't add tags when made this 1st post, but can't find where to add them now. Also wonder if I posted in correct place or if should be in Plumbing.
