Repainting Cabinets

Have old cabinets that I would like to repaint but they have a "hard plastic veneer-like" surface. Will paint adhere to them?

Re: Repainting Cabinets

the doors you have is probally what they call thermafoil doors. and the surface is rough enough to hold paint. this is a plastic over an mdf board, so as long as the plastic isn't coming lose it will be fine. the areas of the kitchen to look at the doors to see if the foil is coming loose would be near the stove or where it might get direct sunlight and would first be noticed along the straight sides of the doors.
