Removing rusty window lock

I'm refinishing a window and need to remove the window lock but the screws are rusted and can't be budged. What can I do?

Re: Removing rusty window lock

You could try spraying a real small amound of WD40 on the screwheads around the crack at the edge of the screws and tap them a few times. Make sure there's no paint on the screws that may be holding them in the holes, too. Let them sit overnight and then try again. Try tapping the end of the screwdriver handle at the same time you're trying to unscrew the screws.

If that doesn't work, try drilling the screws out.

Good Luck.
