Remote light fixture for old home

We want to install a new ceiling light fixture in a room that does not have a light switch. The current fixture we have has manual light switches on the lamp itself. We didn't want to have to run wires for a wall switch and was wondering if there is anything out there that can be used, such as a remote system, that can be installed when we install the light and then can be used to turn the lights on.
