Refinishing an old dresser

Hi all. We are getting ready for a new baby which means getting lots of new things. Well, one nice thing is we got an old chest of drawers from my grandparents house. It's solid wood and in great shape just needs some finish work done. However my question turns to the smell. My grandma smoked for years and the inside of this dresser stinks like smoke. I've been trying to air out the drawers but it's been a week now and it still stinks. Any ideas what I could do to get rid of this nasty smell? I'm sure it wouldn't be good for baby to wear cloths that stink like smoke.
