Refinishing a Fiberglass Door

We installed a fiberglass door in March 2007. Then we took the door off and painted it later. Unfortunately we made the mistake of painting it outside in the sun and the paint beaded up and became textured because the door was warm.

So this year we would like to fix it. My questions are how do we take the old paint off of the door without ruining the door? Was Exterior Latex the correct paint to use? We used a sprayer, should we use a brush instead?

Re: Refinishing a Fiberglass Door

A light sanding to remove the paint would probably be the best way to go. I prefer primming with oil based KILZ, 2 coats, Then oil based paint. Oil based paint, IMHO, holds up much better on exterior locations.
