Radient heating

Have radient floor heating in bathroom. should this be left on all the time or only before bathing? It takes at lease one and a half hours for tile floor to warm up

Re: Radient heating

Radiant heat is designed to be left on all the time due to the long lag time that it requires to heat the house.

This often creates problems when more heat is needed during shower/bath times.

In such cases if the bathroom has its own thermostat, the water temp can sometimes be increased in that particular zone
by an adjustment at the boiler.

In other cases a kickspace heater has to be installed to provide added heat when a shower or bath is taken.

The site below illustrates kickspace heaters; click onto "products", then "residential" then "twin-flo".

Please post back to provide more info of how your boiler is piped, and the water temperature on the boiler gauge.
