Hey guys.....
A few questions......... My parents had someone come in many years ago and apply a texture to the luan wall in their living room. It was described as a "knocked down stucco" treatment. I would assume some of you are familiar with this. My question is this.....what is the product? Is is simply sheetrock mud or something else? I plan to have it applied in a bathroom....is that doable in a moist environment? I do have a vent fan in the bathroom. Also plan to float the seams of the luan. Should floating be done first, then prime the luan? Or prime the luan, float the seams, and apply the texture?
Thanks,
Sophie
Anyone? Anything?
Yes it can be done with drywall compound. You dab the compound on with a roof brush let it set until it starts to firm then knock down the peaks with a light touch of a drywall knife. After it dries completely you will need to apply a finish to seal it. A PVA primer followed by what ever paint color you want. I would suggest you practice it on a board or piece of drywall first to master the technique.
