Question about a sink disposal

I am trying to install a new disposal. My current plumbing calls for a straight pipe coming out of the disposal but the disposal (badger) I just bought came with a pipe that bends down.

Do I need to have it bend down or do they sell pipes that come straight out of the disposal?

thx.

Re: Question about a sink disposal

There a line that can be connected straight out of disposals. It called a flanged tail piece.

They sell straight pipes. They are found in the sink repair section. Make sure to get one that is 1.5"

Your welcome Steve. If you have a DBL compartment sink they make what is called a disposal waste. It includes the straight section of pipe you need. Plus a tee and the other sections you will need to connect the other sink compartment. The only other thing you would need is the trap.

Helpful hint: take the piece that came with the disposer with you to the store. Then when installing the straight piece, don't forget to install the heavy rubber washer that came with the disposer.
