Putting Pavers over existing cement patio on 100yr old house.

We have a cement patio which was poured over 20yrs ago to be the slab for a room which we never added! It has 3ft.footings. We want to put a paver block on top of this patio. It abuts the house and there is no space between the shingles and the cement to fit the pavers against the house. Is there a problem with water that would seep between the pavers and the house? The is only a small foundation (crawl space) and the original "old wood" is beneath the cement type shingles. My son tells me that we will create a problem where the water will seep and termites will come into it! Any advice?

I can't see your patio from my house, even if I stand on my chair.

You'll need to bring in a well qualified tile installer to handle any water issues as well as expansion and contraction. Normally the joint between abutting surfaces is caulked closed, but not solely for waterproofing reasons.
