More info/photos are needed.

If you are handy, take the faucet apart, take the parts to a plumbing supply center to find replacement parts, or remove the faucet and install a new one.

If you are not handy, get a plumber.

If you are telling me that you are handy, then you shouldn't have to ask us what to do.

Thanks, this is what I sign in for? I have put in half a dozen faucets between bathroom and kitchen; I replaced 2 water heaters and have have replaced several faucet controls in showers not to mention place a complete shower in a bathroom. I never worked on a faulty faucet. I thought this sight was to help each other. your help and advice is good enough to use for toilet paper.
If this is the type of help I can expect from TOD, I no longer want to be a part of it.

With an attitude like this you won't go far ANYWHERE you go seeking help.

You asked a question, I told you to take the faucet apart and to go to a plumbing supply shop to get replacement parts...and you are ranting?

Do yourself a favor, relax, change your attitude and don't spoil your new year's day !
