Ptotective plastic cover/shield for door trim?

Next month we are replacing two exterior doors. On the inside, we will be replacing the old wood trim with new. Our question is, Is there some sort of "clear plastic trim guard" that covers sections of the trim to keep (a bunch of dogs) from scraping the paint and then the wood! We used to have the clear plastic 90 degree pieces that you tacked up on the corners of wall to protect the edges....Doesn't anyone make something to protect the door trim??? I know that Home Depot sell some "plastic-like" pre colored white stuff, but I am not sure how strong it is or how much protection it provides? Thanks, Bill

www.doortrimcover.com sells a white aluminum cover that you install with screws. It will only fit a standard door which is 7 feet tall and 3 feet wide, or 7 feet tall and 2 feet 8 inches wide, or anything in between those widths.
