Protecting Cedar Furniture

I recently built some adirondack chairs out of cedar and want to put a clear finsh on them to protect them from the weather. Could I get some suggestions on the best product to use?
I found a tip on line the Sikkens makes a good product, but I also read in another post on TOH that spar polyurethane may also be a good product. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks
Eric

I'd be curious to know if this extends the life of cedar, or if it's simply better for keeping it looking good.

I personally like to let cedar weather.

The Spar product is marine grade and is super stuff, but it adds sheen and changes the feel of the surface significantly. I like to use Cabot's waterproofing with Teflon, great water-based product that soaks right into surface bearly changing the look and really works well. Enjoy!

Peter,
I think if I had a real up north, in the woods, type house I would let the cedar weather as well, but in the suburbs I just don't think I would like the look. I also think it will extend the life of the chairs.
