Popping and snapping noises months after foundation repair

We had major foundation work done this summer (multiple helical piers, lifting, and strapping). We are still hearing popping and snapping noises from our lower level. They aren't loud but happen multiple times throughout the day. How concerned do I need to be?

Ask your contractor. While some settling is expected, other noises or repeated noises should be investigated.

If needed, have the work inspected by a qualifies general contractor, foundation contractor or an engineer. See what they say.

We had the foundation contractor came out. He told us to go ahead and fix all the cracks and level the door jams and then wait to see if more cracks or sticky doors appeared. He said the snaps and popping shouldn't still be happening (it's been months) but gave us no real answers as to why it would still be making noise. Our GC isn't very happy about that answer, either, but doesn't really have any other suggestions for us either.

Whenever you significantly disturb a structure's foundation, you're going to introduce a whole lot of stress at all framing/finish connections. It took years for the house to settle and take on the bent shapes it had, all of a sudden you've raised, leveled, and done whatever else to it. Some of those connections can have tons of force being exerted upon them, now all those bent shapes have to relax and bend to a new shape, hence the popping and cracking noises you're hearing.
