Pool enclosure - is it worth it?
JTWhite

My wife and I moved to North Dakota two years ago but I'm originally from SoCal. I'm a big swimmer and love being able to enjoy our pool in the summer but find it frustrating in the winter time when it's covered in feet of snow, so I'm trying to persuade my wife we should get a pool enclosure. I want something like this http://www.poolandspaenclosuresusa.com/ but she think's it will be too big and ruin our garden. What do you guys think? Worth it or not? I'd just love to able to swim all year round like I did before we moved and it's about a 45 minute drive to our closest indoor pool.

Brilliant idea, depending on the initial cost and how much you use the pool. It's attractive and when open, doesn't disturb the view at all. You'll have to heat the pool, treat it, clean it at significant cost.

But look at your savings: you save time and travel to the nearest indoor pool, you save your skin from the harsh chemicals and urine in a public pool, you save on membership dues...

You will have "California" in North Dakota. Cool.

There are many benefits of having pool enclosure, you can use the pool all year. In addition to that you have your privacy and you are protected from debris also. You can enjoy pool time with your kids without danger of water.
