Plastic barrier directly on concrete block

Is it okay to put a plastic sheet (vapor barrier) directly on the concrete blocks in my basement before framing and drywalling the wall?

Re: Plastic barrier directly on concrete block

No, place the place the vapor barrier on back side of framing if you are away from the wall. If you are "stripping" out the wall, just seal the block before stripping and use foam styrene insulation between stripping against block. If you are framing away from the way, plastic back side, fiberglass between framing. You don't want plastic on wall. This will trap moisture and cause mold etc.
Hope this helps.;)
