Pedestal Sink

I have a pedestal sink that has a very slow drain. Drain cleaners work a bit but then the drain backs up. I tried the plunger trick and it didn't work. The pedestal is close to the wall and gives me almost no access to the trap. Is there a way to snake a sink like this? I can't figure out how to remove the drain cover.
thanks.

Should be knurled locking nut under the sink, high up on the tailpiece. Turn counter-clockwise until strainer body comes loose

Try removing the pop up,most of the time it is just hair caught on the pop up.

That's part of the problem - I can't figure out how to get the pop out off.

Re: Pedestal Sink

Follow the pop up rod down to the tailpiece and loosen the not that fastens it to the tailpiece. Pull the rod out and that will release the pop up so it can be pulled out.
