Patio Stone Quality

We are going to install stones on top of our older concrete patio which is in good/stable condition. There are pros and cons regarding a wet-lay or dry-lay installation. We will go with the dry lay. We will be using one inch thick regular cut stones so as not to go above the step into the family room. In our area, PA Bluestone is affordable but it has a darker range of colors. We like the Indian (country of India) Flagstone in autumn brown which has a lighter array of colors. The cost is almost twice as much but the palette of colors blends better with the house.

Besides the cost, are there any differences in quality between PA Bluestone and Indian Flagstone? Is one stronger or more durable than the other? Is either one easier to keep clean?

As far as color, is it important for the color of the patio stone to harmonize with the house? The house is red and black brick. The bottom part of the house where the patio will be built is stucco.

Thanks so much for your opinion!
